A challenger approaches!!! Drakarus joins the hunt!

Hello keepers of the underground fortresses we all take pride in!
My name is Drakarus. Dwelvers is my first RTS game, and its set the bar high!
I tend to type funny sometimes, but I try to keep it readable. I prefer to let my cannons mow down the enemy, which says allot about my non confrontational personality.
That makes it kinda funny that my first post was about a creature that was meant to allow direct confrontation of the enemy by the player... yeah...
I'm crazy and I know it, and I'm getting crazier by the day, so watch out!
The wolf pack is coming to town!
The ballad of the Beowulf bard

Though I'm from the overworld, I'm here to have some fun.
Once I've settled in here, The fun will have begun.
I'll play my music loudly, And be sure that all can hear.
I'll happily stay here a while, So long as you've got beer.:P

Hello.

Thanks for joining us and post a suggestion, welcome to the community Smile

It's your first time with RTS, interesting, then what was the previous games you've played? Was maybe connected somehow with Dwelvers? Also I'm curious, how did you hear about us? Smile

Oh look it's my ever so evasive sound guy. Drakarus here is a person/real life friend of mine who also makes all of my background musics. He is really good at what he does and as some pretty awesome ideas now and then.

Random fact: The first game I ever played was a sonic advanced 2 on gameboy SD. It took me almost five years to beat that thing and now I can speed run the game in about 30 minutes.

The games I was playing before this were Minecraft and Terraria, and I got to the point that I absolutely HAD to have a change of pace from the "You are" type games and decided to try an RTS. I decided to try Dwelvers because prof_ion recommended it. My computer can just barely play it, so I haven't done much, but I've been watching how the game works when a pro is playing, and that got me hooked.

Also, yes, I'm Professor Ion's audio guy.

Welcome to the forums drakarus! Cool

Nice start, posting a suggestion as your first post here. I'm looking forward to hearing your music/sound fx when I watch Ion's first youtube vid on Dwelvers, as soon as he posts it.

I had a big long reply all typed up here and I saved it as a draft, only to realize that I have no idea how to get it back now...

I consider myself to be Ion's minion.

I only have a few outstanding songs, and Prof really needs to use the good ones more often...

I feel so welcome here Big Grin

Nice, so you're both friends, nice to see you. Smile

Yeah, draft are little complicated, but if you saved it you still have it. Go to UserCP than scroll down to Miscellaneous and click in this menu on Saved Drafts. There should be your saved post. Smile

Nice! Friendly banter! I got a kick of how you claim to be the Prof's minion good stuff. So welcome to the group! We have tonnes of fun here and no confrontational stuff so you're good there. Saw your suggestion and made a post on it already. Good idea, and you used Sebt's Stylishly Evil Suggestion Guide so you are already fitting in well.

Welcome to the group drakarusbonehelm Smile
I had a chat with the professor yesterday, and I think he mentioned you as the sound-guy across the street, am I right or have I mixed things up Tongue
Really looking forward to hearing your music, and as I can see you have already contributed with some ideas, nice, very nice!

Once again, welcome Smile

I'm wearing such s stupid grin right now because people are actually paying attention to things I say!Big Grin

Yes Rasmus, I'm the sound guy from across the street.

Prof, I forget everything easily, that's why I'm the minion. Because I'm notoriously stupid even though I'm pretty smart.

I could put a sample of my music on here for people, if you really want to hear it.

Okay. Here's a sample. It's fast paces and was used by Prof in a 'random stuff exploding' montage in one of his spelunkey videos.

Might be time I start putting his music up someplace people can listen to it publicly, but not download it. Any ideas? I think it would be good publicity for Drakarus. I would do this instead of him, being I am technically speaking his boss. But he isn't getting paid yet as IML (Ion Media Labs) is still just a distant light on the Horizon, but I will get there. One day I will pay him for his work! And he of course gets the monies if we ever get them sold.

Youtube is one place you can put his music up on, I've seen music on youtube where the video part is just a static picture. You don't have to go that bare-bones but you can definitely put his music on youtube. Of course, you could also put it up on iTunes, where people can hear a sample of it, and can download it, but only if they buy it first. Wink
