Hmm, the error report seems to be pointing towards a crash during the 2D rendering of buildings or creatures. I imagine that a crash like this could happen if the building data is corrupt, which could go well in hand with newly created buildings like you described.

I am not able to reproduce this bug. I will have to put this topic in more reports needed.

Hmm, interesting...
In your report from windows that the crash happened in "FW1FontWrapper.dll", that is the dll file that handles the text rendering. Okay, this is very interesting, I am now able to pinpoint the location for the crash. But it is still not enough, I know I have experienced this crash myself a while ago, I think it was in the 0.7 version as well, but was never able to reproduce it.

I don't think it is "FW1FontWrapper.dll" fault, I think it is the information sent into it. Anyhow, I have put in some extra debugging information that could help me solve it when reading the next crash report if it crashes in the 0.8c version.

I don't think this issue will be easy to solve because it is not very reproducible, but for each version released I will come closer to the solution, and if not, I will have to rewrite the code just as I did with the ogg crashes.

I would hope so too. I haven't been able to reproduce this one myself just as Rasmus pointed out, the problem is not very reproducible.

I would say go ahead and mark it solved. I've only had this issue pop up once when I posted the original comment, so either the modifications made to the game have inadvertently fixed the condition that generated the crash, or it doesn't relate directly to the action of filling dirt. Many of the large excavations I do get filled back in so there has been plenty of opportunities for this one to show itself again.
