Feedback/Modification I & S - Creature Pane
#1
This was touched on in the Steam forum (which I have just discovered...).

It would be nice to have an info panel for creatures. Something simple like:

Creature Type Name Level Health Current Task Armor Weapon

Sortable by each category. Clicking a creature quick jumps the camera to that creature.

Are you talking about a list type display so you can see all at once because the creature info window will come up already when you click on someone which gives you all that information.

Yes. a list display.

If this was implemented, it could act as a creature selection. It could solve the problem of selecting while digging. A button could even be added in this pane for creating groups of creatures. (i.e. 'squads')

I touched on the idea of not being able to select minions at all with mouse click. Should have to go thru the existing screen.
This would get rid of the need to hold shift, or rasmus's worry of changing space and confusing new players.

Hmm, the creature info screen and selecting between creatures are already in the game as seen here: http://forum.dwelvers.com/showthread.php?tid=1261

Adding a squad system through it is something we could do if necessary.

I think he's looking for something more like this. While you can currently get all the info on the current selected character and even scroll across the bottom to view others, to get a good overview a list would be a lot easier because you could also filter. If I had more time I would throw together a concept based on another game I like to play which is something similar to Settlers called Cultures. From this image you can see a scrollable list of all characters, filter them by several categories, and something that isn't shown here which could easily be added is what they are currently doing.

Hmm, yeah. I like this!
But I would like to wait a bit with it until we get all the creature skills etc in there so that I don't have to redo it when more creature features gets added.
