The issue here is that when no path to room is available the creatures will just stand idle. This goes for battle and work as long as the "task" isn't right next to them.

I believe this one is fixed. I saw that it took a moment for my Imp that was trapped to figure out it was the only one who could mine that tile, but it got mined after a few seconds.
