Guideline Key Mappings
#1
I know it's real basic right now, but I saw something in Ras' video the other day which allowed him to show most of the dungeon in the screens view so I set off to see how that was done. Tilting the camera was the trick and has the keys you would figure they would. This list will obviously get bigger as the game progresses, but I figured I'd get a head start.

Key Mappings v0.4

Movement:
Forward.........W.....................↑
Backward.......S......................↓
Right.............D.....................→
Left..............A.....................←

Camera:
Zoom In......Home.........Mouse Wheel Down
Zoom Out.....End............Mouse Wheel UP
Tilt Up........Insert
Tilt Down...Page Up
Pan Right........E.................Page Down
Pan Left.........Q....................Delete

Function:
Design View....F1

...and yes I cheated on my formatting X P

tilting and panning the camera can also be done by pressing down the right mouse button and dragging

I will put in some options there with the next version, for example, now in this new version I use the right mouse to handle the menus and the middle button to rotate the camera. But as I know some of you don't have the middle mouse button I will have to give you the option to map the keys and buttons.

... and that's why we love you. Tongue

Damn, I can see so many possibilities to implement for a game. Own engine is own engine. Would like to see this feature that in action. Smile

I can see it now, Rasmus' face going :oops: Tongue

Anyways, mappable keys is a good reason to be sending the love, though... Wink

So Rasmus put these random and wierd key combos into the game. He gave us some, and we found the rest our selves. Here they are:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Alt+W = Creates a huge pile of water, at cursor location
Alt+R = Reload textures
Alt+F = Fog-O-War Toggle (CHEAT)
Alt+V = 3x game speed (CHEAT)
Alt+0 = Overview of entire map/dungeon
Alt+Enter = Toggle fullscreen-mode on/off
Alt+L = Lock hand position
F2 = Quick save
F4 = Quick load
F7 = Switch between different viewing modes (Hiding walls, objects, creatures and more)
F8 = hide/unhide objects
Alt+D = Developer mode (SEMI-CHEAT)
Developer mode lets you:
Instantly build rooms (no imps)
Instantly mine blocks (no imps needed, nor loot will be dropepd)
Instantly spawn creatures without cost

THE GOLDEN KEY COMBO, THE ONE

TO LEVEL UP A CREATURE:
HOVER YOUR MOUSE OVER THE CREATURE, AND HOLD ALT, THEN PRESS "A", EACH TIME YOU PRESS "A" YOUR CREATURES ON THAT BLOCK GAINS A LEVEL MAX LEVEL IS 10!
---------------------------------------------------------------
Post a key combo, and i will add it to the list. Start your combo's!

I already made a little list, here it is:

alt-w: Places water
alt-r: does something that laggs the game, mouse can get stuck
alt-d: dev mode
alt-f: fog toggle on/off
alt-v: 3x the speed
alt-0: gives you a 2D look of the map, you can see how the imps are walking and where there are ores. Textures are weird.
alt-Enter: Toggle full screen on/off
F4: reloads the world or fog

Today I'm going to search mostly for the leveling op key but I guess on the way to the key I find some others

F2 = Quicksave
F4 = Quickload
alt-0: Is a remnant from old times, I still use it sometimes to see if there are works assigned to certain tiles.
alt+R: Reloads most of the textures and shaders in the game, so that you can edit them and see the result without having to reload the game.

There are more Wink

But I doubt you will find the level up key, it is a trick to it. One clue I can give you is that I'm not interested in levelling up all creatures at once, only the once I point at.

Whoo I got a pretty cool key combo, I don't know if it's close to the leveling up key but this is awesome. You can lock your key's. When you hit like E for rotating and than immediately ALT the rotation key is locked, the game keeps rotation. To stop it just hit E again, I tryed it for orter moving keys and it works on it too.

I agree, that one deserves a +1 Smile

There are other keys if we are going to be picky Wink

One that locks the hands.
One that visually removes certain object types in the dungeon.
And one that visually removes all objects in the dungeon except those the hand is pointing at.

Clue: Not everything is ALT+
