Notepad++ is a good one I use that works with several programming and markup languages, and best of all is free. You should check that one out.

Totally approve this program. On Android if you use this system I'm using AMD, works very smooth has some syntax highlights, but it's only in half free... well as everything good on Google play.

Just wanted to say sorry that I haven't paid this thread enough attention. I will soon, I am very aware of that we need a drop box system or something similar that can keep the languages up to date with the released versions.

Actually I found much better online software - SourceForge.net.
I made group for translators, but I need to test it. More news coming soon. Smile

A language editor has been added together with the newest language package files. Read more about it in the first post in this topic.

Feel free to ask any questions if something is unclear on how it works Smile

Awesome, I'm always afraid I've missed a file somewhere.

Hello Smile

Any words on the Done/Pending translations ?
Computers are like air-conditionners, they stop working properly when you open Windows...
#23
I know there are some translations out there that are being made, not sure about all of them..

Right now we have:
English (up to date)
Swedish (up to date)
Spanish (in progress)
French (in progress)

There may be more, but that is the ones I come to think of on the top of my head. We will need to make an official list with this.

Just finished the french main xml, will be done for tomorrow hopefully (i'm french ^^)
I did notice 1 untranslatable string, the word "blocks" in the display settings, remains blocks whatever i may put instead.

I think Club Sandbox was working on a French translation, not sure how far he got. You should send him a PM to coordinate.

Can confirm that the word Blocks is untranslatable.

Also, I haven't found the imp state building anywhere on english.xml to translate, is the only imp state that goes untranslated. Can you confirm this Yamitatsu?
#26
Yes, i confirm that the action "Building" is not in the xml and thus is untranslatable.
I'm "almost" done, only have the buildings to do now ^^

But i'll have to make some adjustments, sentences in french can be lengthy and it can cause some text overlapping issues.

Btw, dunno if it has already been reported cause it's pretty obvious, but, the background texture/color is missing (or the transparency needs to be lowered) for the items/creatures tooltips, making them pretty hard to read sometimes ^^

I think it could be good idea to enlist in first post who is translating to what language... Smile

i am working on a german translation but it goes way slower then i anticipated
either i want too much ( for it to sound good / feel right in german ) or i overestimated my abilities

the thing i am struggling with is mainly the lack of context in the default.xml / german.xml especially with the new file that has entries i cant look up ingame
#29
I have decreased the transparency of the info boxes with the next version. "Building" and "blocks" are now being translated in the game.

I know the feeling.. I had trouble translating the game to Swedish from English as well. There are some phrases that only is used in English and to get the right feeling to the sentences is really hard. Another thing is that I never play games with Swedish translation, and games uses a certain dictionary that isn't compatible with the common tongue. In English this isn't a problem because I have gotten used to the phrases by playing other games. But hearing them in Swedish just feel really weird Tongue

I should add some context to them. Especially when they aren't look-up able in the game. Is there any specific phrases you are having troubles with?

Yep, that happens, a lot. It happened to me in Spanish with "buildings", because technically a building is a housing structure, usually big. So using building for the different... stuff you can build sounds weird. I ended up using estructuras (structures in Spanish).
The same thing happened with "rooms". As Dwelvers room's don't always have walls or nice geometrical shapes, using rooms doesn't quite fit in my opinion. I used sectores (sectors in Spanish) but I'm not quite fond of it either. I'm still thinking of a better word to describe it.

What could help a lot and be rather easy to do is separating the blocks of phrases by sectors. Like: Menu, interface, imp actions, descriptions, key bindings, etc.
I realized halfway through when translating the imp actions that they where, indeed, actions. Only when I launched the game it hit me what were those phrases and had to change them to actions.
